Your account
You need an Ave identity to use the private application. You are responsible for access to that identity and to signed-in devices. You must be at least 13 and legally able to agree to these terms.
Your writing stays yours
You retain your rights in what you write. You give Nook only the limited permission needed to store, transmit, back up, and return encrypted content and related metadata to operate the service. You must have the right to store anything you add.
Acceptable use
Do not attack, probe, overload, scrape, reverse engineer access controls, automate abusive traffic, impersonate another person, use stolen payment information, or use Nook to violate law or another person's rights. We may restrict abusive access to protect people and infrastructure.
Trial, subscription, and cancellation
The full service includes a seven-day trial. Afterward, writing requires a monthly or yearly subscription at the price shown before purchase. Stripe processes payment. Subscriptions renew until canceled; cancellation normally takes effect at the end of the paid period. Taxes and currency handling may vary by payment location.
Encryption and recovery
Nook cannot recover encrypted writing without the correct Nook app key. You are responsible for maintaining access to the Ave identity and devices needed to obtain that key. Export important writing regularly. We cannot promise recovery after identity loss, key loss, device compromise, corruption, or deletion.
Availability and changes
We work to keep Nook reliable, but the service is provided without a guarantee of uninterrupted availability. We may change or discontinue features, prices, or the service. If a material change harms a paid subscription, we will provide reasonable notice or an appropriate remedy where law requires it.
Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Kaleidal is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or lost-data damages. Our total liability relating to Nook is limited to the amount you paid for Nook in the twelve months before the claim. Consumer protections that cannot legally be excluded still apply.
